MIND YOUR STEP ARTISTS ANNOUNCED

Dance Ireland announces the four successful artists/companies who will participate in site specific performances as part of Mind your step in Dublin Docklands on Sunday 08 March 2015.

Through an open call issued last October we received 16 proposals for consideration for Mind your step. The selected artists are junk ensemble, Jessie Keenan, Fearghus Ó’Conchúir and Catherine Young.

Mind your step is a weekend of events taking place on 07 and 08 March 2015 which aims to explore the connection between choreography, live performance, walkscapes and urban planning. Endeavouring to enlarge the audience for dance and raise awareness about the development and regeneration of urban areas, Mind your step will comprise a symposium and performances.

The selected artists will present their work in unusual locations within Dublin Docklands including empty warehouses, vacant shops and high-tech buildings, reflecting the multifaceted fabric of the area.

The performances will be linked by a guided walk through the designated area in the Docklands. The audience will be guided through a journey enhancing their connection with this rapidly changing part of the city.

This project is conceived and curated by Giulia Galvan and will be delivered in collaboration with Eleanor Creighton and Argyris Argyrou. Mind your step is a Dance Ireland project funded by Creative Europe and the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon under the umbrella of Léim, a dance leadership project.
