Léim Live

Dance Ireland jump start Léim European Leadership project @ DanceHouse, Dublin

Dance Ireland is thrilled to be the first to host the ten chosen participants to take part in Léim European leadership project.

LÉIM is an EU Culture Programme funded project, led by Dance Ireland in partnership with CSC Dance House, Bassano del Grappa (Italy), Mercat de les Flors Barcelona (Spain), Tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf (Germany) and Dance House Lemesos (Cyprus).

Ten participants were invited to participate in Léim; two participants from each partner country, including Eleanor Creighton, Sheila Creevey (Ireland), Giulia Galvan, Valentina Nicoli (Italy), Natalia Alvarez, Marcel Bassachs (Spain), Isabell Büchler (Germany), Argyris Argyrou and Maria Philippou (Cyprus).

Built upon principles of sharing and exchange of artistic and managerial approaches in the development of dance practices, Léim participants will have access to an extensive international network of artists, cultural operators and institutions through which they will get the chance to learn and present themselves as active cultural players. Mobility, transfer of knowledge, exchange of information and exposure to different artistic communities, audiences and local contexts are the main principles upon which this professional development opportunity is being implemented.

During their time in DanceHouse participants and selected guests will work alongside Mary O’Brien (Careers Coach), Annette Nugent (Marketing & Communications Consultant), Ronan Smith (General Manager, The Science Gallery), David McKenna (RTÉ Television’s Executive Producer) Róise Goan (Director, Dublin Fringe Festival), Donal Shiels (arts promoter and former director of St Patrick’s Festival) and Daniel Gray (Editor, Totally Dublin magazine).
