Marcel Bassachs: Module B placement in Bassano del Grappa

Stepping back on my research about education in a dance field I followed my last placement for Modul B at the Dance House Comune di Bassano del Grappa, Italy. I was hosted by Roberto Casarotto, director of International dance projects and Chief executive of BMotion Festival.
BMotion festival is the project of Operaestate Festival Veneto dedicated to contemporary dance languages and the theatre.
On the scene we could see the best local artists alternated with vital european artists, among them: ALL DRESSED UP WITH NOWHERE TO GO, NIKE, 4:STILL LIFE, LIE LIKE A LIONEGGS ARE GOOD FOR YOUR HAIR, GUT GIFT, THE ANIMATED, FIRST BODY MANY, SOUS MA PEAU, A RITROSO, SORTIRA: FLUX FLUX, PLEASE BE GENTLE, BLIND DATE, JOURNEY, WHAT AGE ARE YOU ACTING?, A CORPO LIBERO, BALLROOM, MARY’S BATH, PLEASE ME PLEASE, PLAYING WITH GOALBALL, BOY OH BOY, DEEP DISH.
We could find also some space for reflection and study, with the presence of young critics, national and international operators. Also, this year for the first time the Summer School, which, in collaboration with the contemporary dance teachers network NO LIMITS-C-TIONS offered a rich program of training events for dancers and choreographers.
The proposals touched many dance languages, were lauded by some of the artists and the most qualified teachers, offered to choreographers an immersion in research and studied the dramaturgy of movement. They were addressed to dancers of different experiences, from the professionals to youngsters, include as part of the vision of shows and meetings with authors.
Mind your Step was conceived and curated by Giulia Galvan within the framework of the Léim project as part of the BMotion festival, programmed on the 24th of August.
During my placement I have attended, helped, and assisted Giulia, during all processes, and I am pleased to say that it was a pleasure to work with my college Giulia Galvan on the project she directed: Mind your step.
