Marcel Bassachs: Module C placement in Bassano del Grappa

My Module C session on the Léim project allowed me, as a participant from the Dance House Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona); to work together with Giulia Galvan to implement the cultural project she directed: Mind Your step.
Mind your Step project was conceived and curated by Giulia Galvan within the framework of the Léim project as part of the BMotion festival and took place on the 24 August 2014 hosted by CSC Casa dellaDanza, Bassano del Grappa (Italy). BMotion festival is the project of Operaestate Festival Veneto dedicated to contemporary dance language in the theatre.
Mind your step by Giulia Galvan is a project about choreography, walkscapes, the involvement of local communities in the decision-making process and how the arts can impact on urban development.
The project was conceived in two sessions on the Sunday morning, 10 am to 1pm as a roundtable with activist Teodor Celakoski, researcher Matteo Corsi, journalist Giulio Todescan and choreographer and architect Tiziana Bolfe Briaschi. The meeting started with a short presentation by Giulia Galvan and the presenters and was followed by a discussion at the Bassano Urban Center. The roundtable session explored how urban planning can be connected with and influenced by the choreography.
The second session took place in the afternoon, 3:30 to 6:30pm, and was designed as a guided walk through Bassano with performances by Tommaso Monza/Claudia Rossi Valli with MARY’S BATH, Chiara Frigo with BALLROOM, and Silvia Gribaudi with A CORPO LIBERO.
I was pleased to participate and worked together with Giulia to have the opportunity to implement the project she directed in Bassano del Grappa as part of the BMotion festival 2014.
